Day-by-Day Itinerary
Airport → Sigiriya
Arrive at Colombo Katunayake Airport and meet your local representative. Proceed to Sigiriya. Climb the iconic Sigiriya Rock Fortress, associated with Ravana's legendary Lanka, evoking visions of celestial architecture, royal grandeur, hidden chambers, and mythic landscapes linked to Sita's captivity and epic Ramayana traditions. Overnight in Sigiriya.
Sigiriya → Matale Spice Garden → Kandy
After breakfast, transfer to Kandy. En route visit Matale Spice Garden, discover aromatic spices, learn cultivation methods, Ayurvedic uses, and traditional Sri Lankan cooking ingredients. In Kandy: explore the historic city, Kandy Lake, and vibrant markets, concluding with a traditional Kandyan cultural dance and drumming performance. Overnight in Kandy.
Kandy → Hanuman Temple → Ramboda Tea Factory → Nuwara Eliya
After breakfast, visit Kandy Temple of the Tooth. Then visit Sri Bhakta Hanuman Temple in Ramboda, a revered Ramayana site surrounded by misty hills and peaceful devotional atmosphere. En route stop at Ramboda Tea Factory, observe Ceylon tea processing stages and taste fresh brews. Arrive Nuwara Eliya for a city tour: colonial architecture, Gregory Lake, manicured gardens, and emerald tea estates. Overnight in Nuwara Eliya.
Nuwara Eliya → Seetha Amman Temple → Bentota
After breakfast, visit Seetha Amman Temple, the only Hindu temple dedicated to Princess Sita in Sri Lanka. According to the Ramayana, Hanumanji burnt this area before leaving Lanka; his footprints can be seen near the stream today. Transfer to Bentota. Optional: Kitulgala water rafting or water sports. Overnight in Bentota.
Bentota → Galle → Bentota
After breakfast, transfer to Galle visiting sites en route from Bentota. Attend Madhu River Boat Ride, scenic safari through mangroves, small islands, cinnamon plantations, and diverse birdlife. Visit Kosgoda Turtle Hatchery, learn conservation efforts protecting endangered sea turtles and observe hatchlings before ocean release. Visit Galle Dutch Fort & Lighthouse, UNESCO site with colonial architecture and cobblestone streets. Return to Bentota. Overnight in Bentota.
Bentota → Colombo
After breakfast, transfer to Colombo. Visit Kelaniya Temple, commemorates Vibheeshana's coronation by Rama after Ravana's defeat, representing justice, devotion, and Lanka's sacred ties to Ramayana history. Colombo city tour: colonial heritage, modern skyline, bustling markets, seaside promenades. Overnight in Colombo.
Colombo → Departure
After breakfast, proceed to the airport for departure, taking home unforgettable memories of Sri Lanka's Ramayana trail.
