Day-by-Day Itinerary
Airport → Chilaw
Arrive at Colombo Katunayake Airport and meet your representative. En route visit Munneshwaram Kovil, a revered Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Ishwara, and Manawari Kovil. Overnight in Chilaw.
Chilaw → Mannar → Jaffna
After breakfast, transfer to Jaffna. En route visit Mannar Island, famous for quiet beaches, dry landscapes, and historic sites, connected to the mainland by a long causeway. Visit Thiruketheeswaram Temple, one of the five ancient Pancha Ishwaram Shiva temples in Sri Lanka, an important Hindu pilgrimage site. Overnight in Jaffna.
Jaffna Temples
After breakfast, visit Nallur Kandaswamy Kovil, one of the most important Hindu temples in Sri Lanka, dedicated to Lord Murugan, famous for its golden tower and vibrant annual festival. Travel to Nainativu Island (by boat) to visit Nagadeepa Purana Vihara, a sacred temple linked to the ancient Naga civilization mentioned in Hindu and Buddhist traditions. Visit Keerimalai Naguleswaram Temple, one of the Pancha Ishwarams where sages and divine beings connected to Ramayana mythology worshipped Lord Shiva. Overnight in Jaffna.
Jaffna → Trincomalee
After breakfast, transfer to Trincomalee. Visit ThiruKoneswaram Kovil, an ancient Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. Visit Sri Bhadrakali Amman Temple, renowned for vibrant festivals and intricate Dravidian architecture. Overnight in Trincomalee.
Trincomalee → Dambulla
After breakfast, transfer to Dambulla. Optional photo stop at Sigiriya Rock Fortress (UNESCO), entrance fee not included. Visit Dambulla Royal Cave Temple (UNESCO), five caves featuring over 150 stunning Buddha statues and intricate murals dating to the 1st century BCE. Overnight in Dambulla.
Dambulla → Colombo
After breakfast, transfer to Colombo. Colombo City Tour covering Pettah Market, the historic Fort area, and Galle Face Green promenade. Check in to hotel. Overnight in Colombo.
Colombo → Departure
After breakfast, proceed to the airport for departure, taking home memories of Sri Lanka's extraordinary northern spiritual heritage.
